  • The most comfortable couch on the planet.
  • The softest and most beautiful rug.
  • Vases and vases of fresh flowers. All sorts of colorful wild flowers.
  • Big windows with lots of natural sunshine and a view that would people would KILL to see.
  • Every wall would have shelves and shelves of books.
  • Paintings and prints by artists that I adore.
  • Many, many framed photos of family and friends.
  • Of course, Ryan would be right there with me enjoying my dream space.

Day 18: A Few of My Favorite Things

This list is somewhat hard to populate because we’ve already done a few lists full of my favorite things but here are some things you don’t know:

  1. Birds. I have a huge infatuation for birds but not necessarily the live and breathing type. I love cartoons and jewelry and paintings and everything. And owls are my favorite! Here are just two things I have in my kitchen, Owl and Birdhouse salt and pepper shakers.

  2. Pie crust. I recently made cookies from pie crust and they were pretty good. Next time I’ll do a few things different to make them better.
  3. Shoes. I have a shoe addiction. Last year I got rid of 14 pairs of shoes and I still have about 30 or more in my closet. And I want more.
  4. Massages. Almost a year ago I got a membership and I have never looked back. I get at least one once a month and I love it. It’s something I do for me. And it helps relieve some pain since my car accident.
  5. lindt toffee crunchCandy. Perhaps, my two ultimate favorites are Caramellos and Lindt’s Toffe Crunch. Unfortunately, the I haven’t seen the latter for sale anywhere in 2 years.
  6. Sleeping. I love it oh so much! If I don’t get at least 8-9 hours a night, I am one cranky girl. I usually get to bed with plenty of time to get my beauty sleep.

I forgot to tell you guys that I got my hair cut and dyed last week, but you probably spotted it in my last post. I went to a salon to get my brown redone and my hair cut. Apparently the last person to cut my hair didn’t do a very good job and she had to cut it a little shorter than I prefer but I think it looks okay. I did the purple and pink on my own. I wanted more of a faded, hombre affect but I’m pretty excited about how it turned out anyway.

30 Days of Lists – Favorite Fictional Characters

Day 17: Favorite Fictional Characters

  1. Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. I watched the TV series and read the first book in the series, and she is, by far, my favorite character. I can’t wait to see/read what happens to her.
  2. Kara “Starbuck” Thrace from Battlestar Galactica. She’s totally sassy and gets away with everything. {Reminds me of Alice.}
  3. Captain Malcolm ‘Mal’ Reynolds from Firefly. Swoon. Need I say more?
  4. Olive Snook from Pushing Daisies. She was the cutest, squeakiest little bundle of joy ever.
  5. Bambi from Bambi. I have said this before, but I am a sucker for old Disney movies and most animation movies. Bambi is no exception.
  6. Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Who doesn’t love Johnny Depp especially when he’s playing an amazing character like Jack?

Today, I went to lunch with a friend to the Civic Center Park to partake in some food truck deliciousness. There were about 15-20 trucks there but The Biscuit Bus tempted me the most. I ordered The Franklin which is fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese and sausage gravy inside a biscuit. It was oh-so-delicious. I couldn’t finish it entirely so I saved most of my yummy biscuit for later. We sat on the grass and enjoyed the – what felt like – 80 degree weather. Fall isn’t here yet.

Android apps, part 3

Google Android Apps

Recently, my friends have been getting Android devices and asking me what apps I use so I thought that was a great idea to list them all out for a post.

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4

Part 3 and part 4 consists of the rest of my favorite apps in alphabetical order.

  1. Amazon.com – What can I say? I am an Amazon shopper. If you are too, you’ll love this app with easy barcode searching and the ability to add to your wishlist and read product reviews.

  2. FBReader – To be honest, I’m not really picky about ebook readers but this app is minimal and has everything I need. I simply drag and drop my book into the “eBook” folder and I’m good to go. Because I read mostly at night before sleep, I am constantly using “night mode” which is white text on black.

  3. Fring – I like this app because video chat actually works on my phone (unlike Skype) and doesn’t drain my battery (unlike Skype). It also has a gtalk plugin so I can call people from Fring to gtalk.

  4. Goodreads – Their app is only mediocre but I can at least update the current progress of my book in a jiffy so why not? My Goodreads profile is here.

  5. IMDB – I using this app constantly searching for actors’ Filmography and synopsis’ for shows and movies. So happy to have this info at the tip of my finger.

  6. Mileage – I am slightly OCD about logging and tracking things and this app is very easy to log fuel stop and keep track of MPG. It even has as statistics page.
    mileage new infomileage history
  7. Molome – For those Android users jealous of Instagram, fear not, this is the app for you. Super easy to apply filters and share your photos online. And the icon is the cutest.Follow me. — Molome has been deleted, presumably, because Instagram is now available on Andriod.
  8. My Days – This is a girly app and my girls out here will understand how awesome this app is.

  9. QuickPic – This is by far the best substitute for the stock gallery. You can crop, share multiple pictures at once, watch videos, sort however you want. Everything you want that the stock gallery doesn’t.
    quickpic foldersquickpic pix
  10. Screen Filter – I love to read ebooks and surf the net in bed and this app allows me to dim the screen’s brightness below the minimum.
