Kitty Close Ups

I can’t remember if I introduced you to the newest addition to our family, Henry. We got him back in June — I can’t believe it’s been that long! He was 6 weeks when we brought him home so that would make him 5 or 6 months old now. He is incredibly sweet and loves to cuddle. Basically the opposite of Alice. He sleeps on my face which I like and dislike. It’s hard to push a soft furry ball away. Here are some pictures I took of them yesterday.

animal shelter visit

I have been planting this seed — not so abviously — in Ryan’s brain that we need another cat in our life. When we left for work the other morning, Alice sat in the window and watched us go. Ryan said “Maybe she is lonely when we’re at work…” Victory #1!. Yesterday, I mentioned going to an animal shelter and he didn’t fight me. Victory #2! I think it’s gonna happen.

This one was really hamming it up. I think she really wants to be adopted. Per our vet’s recommendation, we are looking for a young male kitten. But this one was tempting. Look at that tail!!

I love Alice to death but she needs a playmate and I need an animal that won’t get mad when I want to give her snuggles. Wish me luck!

Day 24: Things I Like to Do When I’m Sick

  1. Watch LOADS of TV.
  2. Snuggle up with a blanket on the couch.
  3. Sleep a TON.
  4. Read a book.
  5. Let Ryan care for me. He’s good at it.

I’m kind of doing almost all those things right now. I’m snuggled up on the couch watching the first season of Drop Dead Diva. It’s a show with a silly underlying story line but each episode has a sweet story line. And Ryan is for surely taking care me. <3 Unrelated: here is a video I took a couple weeks back of a silly fish at the Denver Zoo. I can't remember what kind of fish it was, so if you know, tell me!

Day 10: At this Moment

  • Tired from a fun day at the Zoo. First we went to Crema Coffeehouse and met up with some of Ryan’s co-workers, drank a delicious latte and ate an incredible sweet potato waffle. We all went to the zoo – where we got our membership, yay! – and saw soooo many animals. Then went to an ice cream shop called Sweet Action. That leads me to–
  • Ryan is sleeping on the couch. He is adorable.
  • Reading feeds from my greader. I swear it’s never ending but right now I only have 3 unread items. YES!
  • Looking around my new home and thinking of everything that needs to get done by the end of the month because it’s one my goals for September.
  • Wondering when I should finally turn on our clothes washer and dryer for the first time. Not now, obviously.
  • I feel loved. At this moment and always.
